Brother Dan Has Upped the Ante

Colorado was a trendy sleeper pick out of the north this year, what with top rated recruit Darrell Scott entering the fold in Boulder this year. Instead, Scott ran 87 times for a 343 (or 3.9 per carry) for an impressive one touchdown while Colorado struggled to five wins. But no longer. Says Dan,
"10 wins and no excuses."
With a quick glance at their schedule, I suppose it's doable. The non-conference games consist of three nothings and a trip to West Virginia to play a Mountaineer team devoid of Pat White and overwhelmed with Bill Stewart. They must travel to Austin and Stillwater, but every other legitimate opponent has to come to Boulder. So crazy as it sounds, I can see his point. It should be noted, however, that in 3 seasons he has a grand total of 13 wins and is still planning to start his son at quarterback.

Oh those silly Buffs. Could it happen? Yeah, but if not it is one hell of a way to set yourself up for failure.

As much as I like the Buffs to be competitive next year, 10 wins? Idiot.

Dave Matter thinks Hawk may get deep-6'd by this time next year. If Hawk is saying 10 wins is it, and they don't get there, he may have sealed his fate.

With that schedule and the expectations of that program they really should be 10-2. But like you said, he's basically just drawing his own line in the sand and at the same time selling his team out that they shouldn't go in with a goal of winning all their games.
