I've seen a lot of things in my life...

But that was...AWESOME!! Obviously much more to come on this later, but that really had to be about the best game I've ever attended. Just incredibly well played by both teams with an unbelievable 4 TDs in the last 7 minutes. And obviously good triumphing over evil is always a bonus. Talk amongst yourselves...

Rock Chalk!

Glad to see chase is already claiming the loss is meaningless and pinkle claiming that when kerry's knee went down and the refs missed it, it cost them 10-20 second on the clock. Get real, your challenge gave us what amounted to a free time out which is an expensive way to prove your point and lose us 2 yards and give us back 2 seconds. Which we were well prepared to use as we just had the time to do the review to talk about it. What a stupid decision on their part. Would have been nice to hear them say we played a nice game and was the better team yesterday but I knew that would be hoping for too much. Doesn't matter, still a W against Booger and his band of cohorts. seems a long way from that bcs championship nonsense talk earlier this year doesn't it?

Oh yeah and how good did briscoe look returning the ball. I don't think we can discount how huge it was having that part of our game step up in such a huge game.

We couldn't cover Briscoe at all, and our DC made the dumbest call of all-time blitzing safeties on a 4th and 7! I call BS on Meier being hurt. Dude was all over the place.

He was definitely hurt - his hamstring is fucked - but he's just a perfect combination of having a quarterback head with a receiver's athleticism (not to mention his unbelievable hands) and that leads to him finding a way to be open all the time. As for Briscoe, dude is just a stud. I'm getting greedy, but I'd really like to have that Nebraska game back...

I'd love to retry this game, only with Matt Eberflus locked out of Camerohead.

Other than the blitz on 4th and 7, what would you have done different?

I'm not debating his merits, but what I saw out of your defense yesterday was no different than I would have expected based on what I've seen throughout the year.

By the way, what do you think about the loss of Christensen?

Useless, and really an unknown stat- our D has let up the 2nd fewest points in the B12. I haven't looked it up, but someone said that, so don't hold me to it. Probably mainly OOC and the weakass North. Okie State, Texas, and kU were the only teams that really lit us up.

Christensen will hurt, but I think he's replaceable. The guy deserved a HC spot last year, and I had him pegged with Wyoming or Toledo (where Pinkel and crew came from). It was absurd to think he was heading to Washington, which was rumored. I couldn't tell you how much he recruits, but I know Andy Hill, the QB Coach is a stud recruiter. If Hill goes, that could hurt as much, if not more.

As far as anything different, more Derrick Washington in the passing game. Chase missed Maclin or Perry, who was WIDE open in the replay, when he threw the ball out of bounds on the final drive. Either could have walked in, and my grandma could have limped in for six. You could only see it in the replay. It looked like the safety fell down trying to cut and just laid there.

Defensively, it's amazing how we were able to beat the hell out of Dez Bryant and Rejus Benn this year, and Crabtree and Purify last year, but we couldn't shut down Briscoe. Everyone knows he is kU's only WR threat, and if he's not on, Meier is the other option. I could handle Kerry Meier's stats if Briscoe's weren't there. The only one that had a clean shot on Briscoe were the photogs in the endzone.

There's a rumble that Bruce Amstutz, Toldeo's fired HC, could come to Mizzou. He was the DC at Mizzou for about a week after Pinkel left and took the staff (Amstutz was DC at Toledo until Pinkel). I wouldn't mind it, but the dude is a Mangino twin. If we get lit up in the B12 CG, Eberflus may have to pack up.

*Tom Amstutz

BlogSpot needs to step up and allow editing.

I don't know a ton about Amstutz, but I think he'd be a good guy to have on staff.

Any idea who will replace Christensen? Could it be Hill?

Dave Yost has to be the favorite with Andy Hill 2nd.

After that, I'd say Urban Meyer is willing to leave Florida to become our OC.
